Forcing a key into a frozen lock cylinder bends pins inside. Once they're bent, no amount of de-icer fixes it — you need the cylinder rebuilt or replaced. The fix is patience: warm the key, not the lock, then insert.
Hand-warm the key in your pocket for a minute. Slide it in slowly. If it stops, withdraw, warm again, retry. De-icer (CRC, WD-40 specialist) sprayed sparingly into the keyhole helps once the key will go halfway in.
If you're locked out entirely and the fob has died, we run lockout service at our standard $249 / hour rate. Most calls finish inside 10 minutes — well inside the 1-hour minimum. Book online for $224 first hour.
